  • 1 1/3 cup hazelnuts, skinned and toasted
  • 1 cup whole blanched almonds, toasted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed almond paste
  • 1/2 cup packed, chopped candied lemon peel
  • 1/2 cup packed candied orange peel
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions

    Process hazelnuts, almonds, granulated sugar, almond paste, lemon and orange peel, cinnamon and salt in a food processor until finely ground. Add egg whites and process, pulsing until dough begins to clump and come together, about 30 seconds.
