Grapefruit In Brandy

- 4 grapefruit (large)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water (cold)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp. brandy
Directions

1Cut off all the peel and pith from grapefruit and carefully poke out the pithy core with the little finger.

2Slice the fruit into 1-inch rounds.

3Put the sugar in large saucepan with 1/2 cup cold water and cinnamon.

4Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved, then boil for 2 minutes.

5Lower the heat.

6Add grapefruit slices.

7Poach for 6 minutes, turning once. Arrange slices on serving dish.

8Pour brandy over them and serve hot or chilled.
