  • 2 lb. ground chuck or ground round
  • 1/2 c. dry plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar grape jelly

Directions

    Combine the first six ingredients; mix well and shape into one-inch balls.

    Brown meatballs in a large skillet with hot oil until lightly browned; drain meatballs in a colander sitting on a dish and discard drippings.

    Combine chili sauce and grape jelly in skillet; cook over medium heat until jelly has melted.

    Stir occasionally to keep from burning or sticking.

    Add meatballs and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes; transfer sauce and meatballs to a crock-pot or chafing dish to keep warm.
