  • 1 to 2 lb. beef stew meat
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. onions, cut into large pieces
  • 1 c. dry red wine
  • 1/2 tsp. wine vinegar
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Cook onions in butter until cooked, but still crisp.

    Remove from pan.

    Brown meat.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Simmer 2 hours.
