- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. Crisco
- 5 c. self-rising flour with 2 tsp. sugar sifted in
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1First, mix yeast and warm water.

2Combine flour with sugar sifted in and soda.

3Cut shortening into flour mixture.

4Add yeast mixture, then add buttermilk and mix well.

5Put in covered bowl; refrigerate overnight.

6Next morning, cut out on floured board.

7Cook at 450° until golden brown.
