Hearty Sausage Stew

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 to 2 lb. Polish sausage
• 2 (16 oz.) cans Great Northern beans (undrained)
• 3 c. coarsely chopped cabbage
• 2 c. water *
• 1 1/2 c. sliced carrots (1-inch pieces)
• 2 chicken bouillon cubes
• 3/4 c. sliced celery (1/2-inch pieces)
• 1 Tbsp. minced onion (I use a whole onion)
• 1/2 tsp. basil
• 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
• 1/4 tsp. dried summer savory leaves (optional)
• 1/8 tsp. minced garlic or garlic salt
