  • 2 c. fine white sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. powdered mace
  • 1 c. hickory nuts or walnuts

    Fill the cake pan with a layer of the cake, then a layer of raisins upon that, then scatter nuts until the pan is 2/3 full. Line the tins with well-buttered paper and bake in a steady, but not quick oven.
