Bring water to a normal boil (212\u00b0F). Then let water","17":"either set in the pot for 20 seconds or pour water","18":"into the measuring cup - lowering the temperature to","19":"around 200\u00b0F (the proper extraction temperature).","21":"5. Add ground coffee to the press, and pour water","22":"slowly over the coffee. With any sized press, you","23":"want the maximum level of the slew to be around","24":"an inch from the top of the press. You need room","25":"for the plunger to get in there.","27":"6. Gently stir the coffee.","29":"7. Place the plunger on the press with the plunger","30":"slightly above the slew of coffee and hot water. The","31":"cover will trap in heat that would otherwise escape.","33":"8. Wait four minutes for the coffee to steep.","35":"9. Gently push the grounds down to the bottom of the","36":"pot. It should take around 10 seconds with minimal","37":"force to get to the bottom. If the plunger goes down","38":"too quickly, you probably used too coarse of a grind.","39":"Too slowly - too fine of a grind. **Be careful here!","40":"It's easy to push so hard, the slew of hot water and","41":"coffee come spewing out.","43":"10. When you have pushed the plunger as far down as it","44":"will go, the coffee is ready to be served. If you need to","45":"let it sit, displace coffee into a thermos. Even pressed","46":"all the way down - the coffee will continue to extract","47":"in the hot water."}
