Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 c. water (warm)
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 2/3 c. melted shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 10 to 11 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in warm water.

    Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to yeast mixture.

    Cool milk to warm and add to yeast.

    Also add shortening, 3/4 cup sugar, salt and eggs. Beat well.

    Add flour to make soft dough.

    Let stand 10 minutes.

    Knead.

    Place in greased bowl.

    Turn ball over to grease top side and cover.

    Store in refrigerator.

    Shape rolls 2 to 3 hours before baking.

    Let rise. Bake at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Keeps in refrigerator about a week.
