Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 tsp. cooled melted butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. milk, plus 2 Tbsp.
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. walnuts
- 1 c. raisins
- 3/4 c. currants (if you like them, I do not use)
Directions

1Grease and flour pan.

2Bake in 350° oven.

3Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl and then in a separate bowl mix eggs and milk together (eggs first and then add the milk).

4Add milk and egg mixture to the dry ingredients and then add the melted butter. Combine the walnuts and raisins (and currants if used) to mixture. Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking.

5Takes about 60 minutes.

6About 10 minutes before it is done, you can spread some butter on top to make it golden brown.

7Before adding raisins, soak them in hot water for a few minutes to soften.

8Drain well.
