- 4 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift flour with all dry ingredients, make a well in center of the mixture and add the buttermilk.

2Stir until well blended. Knead gently with a little flour for 1 or 2 minutes.

3With back of knife, cut deep cross.

4Bake at 400° for an hour until golden brown.
