  • 1 lb. pkg. fresh Italian sausage (I prefer mild)
  • 1 lb. pkg. pasta, cooked and drained (Rotelle is good)
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 3/4 c. green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 3/4 c. red bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil, or several sprigs fresh, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, mashed or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 c. prepared spaghetti sauce

Directions

    Puncture sausage and simmer in 1/4 c. water in a fairly deep fry pan for about 15 minutes or until all color has changed. Uncover and raise heat to evaporate water.

    Brown the sausage and slice into 2 lengths.

    Stir in onion, peppers, garlic, basil and spaghetti sauce.

    Cover and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. While cooking, boil and drain pasta (uses a stockpot).

    Toss together.
