- 1/4 lb. sugar
- 1/4 lb. blanched almonds, ground or chopped fine
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 1/2 lb. flour
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 lb. apricot jam
Directions

1Mix sugar and nuts well.

2Add margarine and flour.

3Turn onto board.

4Make a well and add yolks; mix.

5Use about 2/3 of this dough to make bottom layer in jelly roll pan.

6Roll to about 1/2-inch thickness.

7Spread with jam.

8Use remaining dough to make cross bars on top by making thin rolls of dough and place these crisscross to each other on top of the jam layer.

9Bake in moderate oven until light brown.

10Slice into rectangles.
