- 2 packages (1/4 oz. each) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cut warm water (110~ to 115~)
- 1/2 c. warm milk (110~ to 115~)
- 1/3 c. butter, softened
- 1 1/3 c. sugar, divided
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp. jelly or jam
- 1 egg white, beaten
- Oil for deep-fat frying
Directions

1In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add milk, butter, 1/3 cup sugar, egg yolks and salt; mix well.

3Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough (do not knead).

4Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top.

5Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours.
