Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 stems celery, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 pkg. macaroni
  • salt to taste
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c. barbecue sauce
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • a little hot sauce
  • a little Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 c. grated cheese

Directions

    Saute in a skillet the first 4 ingredients in the oil.

    Cook the macaroni with salt to taste.

    Put sauteed vegetables aside and brown the ground beef in skillet with salt and pepper.

    Pour off grease.

    Mix vegetables with meat. Add the barbecue sauce, tomato sauce, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

    Let simmer for a few minutes.

    Pour water off macaroni.

    Put half the macaroni in baking dish.

    Spoon half the meat sauce on top of macaroni. Sprinkle with 1 cup grated cheese. Repeat layers of macaroni and meat sauce. Top with 1 cup grated cheese.

    Bake at 350° until cheese melts.
