Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce, dry well
  • 2 c. celery, chopped
  • 2 c. carrots, shredded
  • 2 c. frozen peas, cooked and drained
  • 2 c. mayonnaise, thinned with 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • crisp bacon, crumbled

    Shred lettuce.

    Place in a large bowl.

    Layer onion, celery, green pepper, carrots and peas.

    Cover with cheese.

    Top with mayonnaise.

    Sprinkle with sugar.

    Keep refrigerated overnight. Sprinkle with bacon before serving.
