Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. each lemon extract and grated lemon rind
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. oleo
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Combine sugar, salt, flour and yeast.

    Head milk, butter and water until very warm.

    Pour into flour mixture and beat; add eggs, lemon juice and the grated rind.

    Let rise.

    Turn on floured board.

    Knead.

    Place in greased and floured loaf pans.

    Let rise again.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes; let cool.

    Put topping of powdered sugar, butter and lemon extract.
