- crushed vanilla wafers (approximately 15)
- 1/2 stick oleo
- 1 can Eagle Brand milk
- 3 eggs (at room temperature), separated
- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Press crushed wafers and melted oleo in pie pan and line whole vanilla wafers around edge.

2Beat egg yolks until light yellow. Add milk and mix well.

3Add lemon juice.

4It may be runny, but will thicken when refrigerated.

5Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until stiff.

6While beating, add sugar, one tablespoon at a time.

7(Do not overbeat; it will cause the egg whites to go flat.)
