- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1/3 c cornstarch
- 3 egg yolks (slightly beaten)
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 c lemon juice
- 1 1/2 c water
Directions

1Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.

2Stir in water gradually.

3Cook till bubbly and thickened, then cook for 1 minute longer.

4Stir 1/2 the hot mixture into the egg yolks, then put that back in pan with the other 1/2 of hot mixture, cook for 1 minute longer.

5Remove from heat stir until smooth.

6Blend in butter and lemon juice.

7Put in cooked pie shell.

8Cool.

9Put cool whip or meringue on top.
