Ingredients

  • 2 cakes yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 4 c. flour

Directions

    Crumble yeast in bowl.

    Add 1 tablespoon of sugar, scalded milk, 1/2 cup sugar, butter and salt.

    Stir to blend and cool to lukewarm.

    Add yeast mixture and beaten eggs.

    Mix well.

    Add flour gradually and beat with a spoon until smooth.

    Turn into greased bowl and let rise until doubled (or let rise in refrigerator overnight).

    Punch down and make rolls.

    Let rise again and bake dinner rolls in 400° oven for 10 minutes.
