Ingredients

  • 2 (3 oz.) pkg. lime gelatin
  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 c. well drained, chopped maraschino cherries
  • 2 c. lemon-lime carbonated beverage
  • 1 c. undiluted Carnation evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Directions

    Combine lime gelatin and applesauce.

    Heat over low heat until gelatin dissolves and then cool.

    Stir in celery, nuts, maraschino cherries and lemon-lime carbonated beverage.

    Chill until syrupy. Chill Carnation evaporated milk in tray until ice crystals form. Whip until stiff and add lemon juice; whip until very stiff.

    Fold into gelatin mixture and chill until firm.
