Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk, scalded
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 3 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water
  • 8 or 9 c. flour

Directions

    Add butter, salt and sugar to milk.

    Add eggs and yeast dissolved in warm water.

    Add flour to this mixture.

    Turn out and knead while adding more flour.

    Let rise until double in size. Punch down and knead to remove air bubbles.

    Divide into 3 loaves. Put in well-greased loaf pans.

    Let rise again until double in size.

    Bake at 350° until brown, 35 to 40 minutes.
