- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/3 cups butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (dutch processed)
- 2/3 cup grated semisweet chocolate
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°F

2Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake tin.

3Beat eggs and sugar together until double in volume.

4Add the flour slowly,then the butter and baking powder last, mixing shortly.

5Divide the batter into two.

6Put the grated chocolate and the cocoa powder(mixed into a paste with the milk) in one half and mix well.

7Alternately pour layers of both batters into the cake pan.

8Twirl a long thin knife through the batter to give it the marbled effect. Bake for 50 minutes. Enjoy!
