Ingredients

  • 1 egg, beaten in 1/4 c. milk or water
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • 1 pinch powdered ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 frying chicken, cut into serving size pieces

    In medium bowl, put beaten egg, water and buttermilk.

    Blend with whisk until well blended.

    When blended, add paprika, allspice, ginger, black pepper and salt.

    Whisk until blended again.

    Put in chicken pieces and marinate 1 hour at room temperature.

    A damp dish towel may be placed over the bowl to keep flies out.
