Moroccan Mint Tea

  • 1 green tea bag
  • 12 cup fresh spearmint, sprigs
  • 4 cups water, boiling
  • 18 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • mint sprig (to garnish) (optional)

Directions

    In a large pot over high heat bring the water to a boil.

    Turn off the water and add the teabag, cover and steep for 5 minutes.

    Rinse the mint.

    Add the mint and the verbena leaves to the pot, cover and steep 5 more minutes.

    Add the sugar and stir to combine, strain and serve.

    Place a sprig of mint in each glass or cup and pour in the strained tea.

    *To serve chilled*.

    Allow the tea to reach room temperature, then transfer the tea to a pitcher, cover and refrigerate until cold.

    This will prevent your tea from getting cloudy.

    Serve in a tall glass with ice and a mint sprig for garnish.
