Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 6 tsp. shortening
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 4 c. flour
  • oil (for frying)

Directions

    Heat the milk, sugar, salt and shortening, but do not boil. Cool this until it is room temperature and add yeast until dissolved.

    Mix the flour into mixture and let rise for 30 minutes. Pinch off small pieces and stretch until very thin.

    Fry this on each side and place on toweling to drain.

    Sprinkle the ears with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.

    Make plenty of these when the kids come home from school.

    They disappear like magic.
