- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 12 cup finely chopped walnuts
- red and green colored crystal sugar
Directions

1in a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

2add egg and extracts.

3beat until light and fluffy.

4add flour and nuts.

5beat just until moistened.

6cover and chill 1 hour or until firm enough to handle.

7shape into 1 inch balls.

8place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.

9flatten to 1/4 inch thickness with a glass dipped in colored sugar.

10sprinkle with additional sugar, if desired.

11bake at 350 degrees, for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set.
