Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 (13 oz.) can mixed nuts

Directions

    Mix together first 4 ingredients.

    Sift together flour and salt; add to first mixture.

    Press into 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake until brown, 25 minutes in 350° oven and cool.

    Melt together the next 4 ingredients and cool.

    Pour over the baked crust.

    Press in mixed nuts and cool.

    Cut into squares.
