  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 13 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 12 cup milk
  • 1 13 cups butter, melted
  • 14 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest

Directions

    For the muffins ~ mix the flour, walnuts, sugar, baking powder, lemon zest and salt in a large bowl.

    Beat the egg with a fork in a small bowl; then add milk butter and sour cream to egg.

    Add egg mixture to flour mixture and stir until just blended.

    Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full and sprinkle with streusel topping.

    Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Streusel topping: Combine the flour, sugar, walnuts, butter, lemon zest in a bowl and mix well.
