  • 1 1/3 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. quick oats (oatmeal)
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Pour boiling water over oatmeal.

    Let stand 20 minutes.

    Sift together flour, soda and salt.

    Cream butter and sugars; add eggs, one at a time.

    Beat well; add oatmeal, then dry ingredients. Bake in 9 x 13-inch pan at 325° for 30 to 40 minutes.
