  • 1 pt. heavy cream
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
  • 1 baked pie shell
  • 1 recipe whipped cream topping

Directions

    Heat the heavy cream in top of double boiler.

    Mix the sugar, flour and salt.
  3. 3
    Pour hot cream over mixture, stirring well. Return to double boiler and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat and add egg whites.

    Pour into pastry shell and bake in hot oven (400°) for 15 minutes.

    Chill and cover with whipped cream topping.
