  • 3 dessert spoons sugar
  • 7 dessert spoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pinch salt

    Heat the olive oil and salt.

    Slice the onions in thin half moon slices.

    And the thyme.

    Saute the onion and thyme for a few minutes over a moderate heat

    When the onion has softened

    Put the sugar in a glass

    Add the vinegar

    And when the onion is ready

    Add the sugary vinegar mixture

    Cover and cook really slowly for half an hour or so
