Oven Roast

7 ingredients
10 steps

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Beef Chuck Roast
  • 1 envelope (about 1 Oz. Envelope) Onion Soup Mix
  • 1/2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 can (14 Oz. Can) Beef Broth
  • 1/2 pounds Baby Carrots
  • 4 cubes Potatoes
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. 2
This can be done by using oven bags, a Dutch oven, or a simple 9x13 baking dish.
  3. 3
I will say that I think the Dutch oven or oven bags would be the easiest way to do this.
  4. 4
However, I was in a rut and had to go with a 9 x 13 dish and lined it with foil to keep the liquid in.
  5. 5
Place your roast in the cooking dish of your choice, then pour the Lipton soup mix and garlic powder over it.
  6. 6
I usually rub this in to be sure the roast is covered with it, then I pour in the beef broth.
  7. 7
This will go in the oven for 1 1/2 hours.
  8. 8
Once the roast has been in the oven 1 1/2 hours, remove and add the carrots, potatoes, and water.
  9. 9
Place back in the oven for another 1 1/2 hours.
  10. 10
If you would like this to be juicier and more tender, you can decrease the heat to 275 degrees F and cook for 5 hours instead.
