- 1 qt. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 sq. baking chocolate
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. milk
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Scald, then cool milk.

2Combine sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, salt and vanilla and add to milk.

3Stir constantly over low heat until thick.

4Pour into casserole.

5Cover with meringue made by melting together 2 squares chocolate, sugar and milk.

6When cool, add this to stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla.

7Bake pudding in a pan of water about 15 minutes at 350°.
