- 4 ripe Comice pears
- 6 oz (155g) blackberries
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese
- 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
Directions

1Position a broiler rack 6 in (15cm) from the source of heat and preheat the broiler.

2Quarter the pears and remove the cores.

3Place skin side down in a flameproof serving dish.

4Sprinkle with the blackberries and walnuts.

5Drop spoonfuls of mascarpone cheese over the pears and sprinkle with the brown sugar.

6Broil for 35 minutes, or until the mascarpone is bubbly and sugar begins to caramelize.

7Serve warm, with crisp buttery cookies.
