- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. pear preserves
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Cream shortening.

2Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed until well blended.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

4Combine flour, soda, salt and spices; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

5Mix just until blended.

6Stir in vanilla, preserves and pecans.

7Pour into greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 35 minutes.

8Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely.
