  • 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 medium pears, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1 Land O Lakes Egg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk*
  • 1 tablespoon mild molasses
  • 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Place 2 tablespoons butter and 1/3 cup brown sugar in bowl.

    Microwave 20-30 seconds until butter is melted.

    Spread mixture into bottom of 9-inch round cake pan.

    Arrange pear slices over brown sugar mixture, overlapping slightly, if necessary.

    Combine 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter and egg in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed until creamy.

    Add flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

    Beat at low speed until mixed.

    Add buttermilk and molasses; continue beating until well mixed.

    Spread batter over pears.
