  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. pecans
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water; cook slowly until sugar dissolves and mixture forms a soft ball (236°), 15 to 20 minutes. Add pecans and salt; cook until mixture hardens slightly (295°), 20 to 30 minutes.

    Stir constantly.

    Remove from heat.

    Add butter and soda.

    Stir.

    Pour evenly into well-greased, shallow pan.

    Cool partially.

    Turn when firm.

    When cold, break into pieces.
