- 34 cup butter, room temperature
- 23 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 34 cups all-purpose flour
- 12 cup pecans, finely chopped
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add egg, vanilla extract, and salt.

3Beat well.

4With mixer at low speed, gradually add flour.

5Cover bowl and chill dough 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.

6Shape chilled dough into 12-inch log, then roll in pecans to coat outside of log.

7Wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper and chill several hours or overnight.

8Cut dough into 1/4-inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

9Bake at 350 degrees F, 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

10Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.
