- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 egg, separated
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/2 c. pecan pieces
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and egg yolk until light in color.

2Add cinnamon, salt, vanilla and flour to make a thick dough.

3Press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

4Sprinkle nuts evenly over top; press in slightly.

5Put unbeaten egg white on top.

6Tilt pan to spread; pour off excess.

7Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.

8Cut into squares while still warm.
