- 1 large bunch fresh basil
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/4 c. pine nuts
- 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Remove leaves from basil and wash and dry thoroughly.

2Place leaves in a mortar together with garlic, pine nuts and pinch of salt.

3With the pestle, pound and grind into a paste against the side.

4Add cheese and continue grinding into a smooth paste.

5Stir in olive oil, a little at a time.

6Sauce should have consistency of creamed butter.

7Makes sauce for 6 servings of pasta.
