- 1 lb. dried pinto beans
- water
- 1/4 lb. lean ham, cubed
- 1 c. chicken broth
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 2 chopped large red bell peppers
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 Tbsp. honey
Directions

1Soak beans overnight in water to cover.

2Rinse beans, then place them in a 4-quart saucepot and cover again with water.

3Cook over high heat until the water boils rapidly.

4Drain beans into a colander.

5Rinse with cold water.
