  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. powdered alum
  • 7 to 8 drops food coloring

Directions

    Put water and salt in kettle; stir and heat to 80° or until bubbles on bottom.
  2. 2
    Remove from heat and add oil, alum and food coloring.
  3. 3
    Add flour quickly; stir to prevent lumps and knead. Will keep soft in plastic airtight container or will harden if left out to dry.
