Ingredients

  • 4 pork blade steaks (1/2 to 3/4-inch thick)
  • 2 Tbsp. lard
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 4 slices onion (1/4-inch thick)
  • 4 slices tomato (1/2-inch thick)
  • 4 green pepper rings (1/4-inch)

Directions

    Brown steaks in lard.

    Remove steaks from pan and arrange in shallow casserole or baking pan.

    Season with salt and pepper. Cover and bake in a 350° oven for 30 minutes.

    Remove from oven and place a slice of onion, a slice of tomato and a slice of green pepper on each steak.

    Cover and return to oven for another 15 minutes.
