- 1 rump roast
- 1 onion
- water
- salt and pepper to taste
- garlic powder
Directions

1Place roast in a large cast iron pot.

2Add a teaspoon of shortening.

3Rub with garlic powder, salt and pepper on roast. Cook on medium heat on both sides until roast is dark, adding water while it cooks.

4Each time you add water, also add garlic powder, salt and pepper.

5When roast is brown enough, quit turning.

6Add 2 cups of water to make some red eye gravy.

7Cook roast for about 3 hours.

8When it is about done, chop up onion and add to gravy.
