  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. mace
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 eggs

    Cream together butter, juice and extracts.

    Gradually add sugar.

    Add in 3rds, beating well 4 well beaten eggs.

    Blend in dry ingredients in 4ths.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour 10 minutes in 9 x 5-inch loaf pan (greased and floured).

    Have ingredients at room temperature.
