- 1 c. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring (optional)
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and Crisco until sugar dissolves.

2Add beaten eggs.

3Sift together flour and baking powder.

4Add flour and milk alternately to first mixture.

5Pour into well-greased and floured tube pan.

6Place in cold oven and bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.

7Add any type of fruit topping to cake when serving (optional).
