- 1 c. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time.

3Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.

4Add extracts.

5Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325° (do not preheat oven) for 1 1/2 hours +.
