  • 3 c. plain or all-purpose flour
  • 5 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 c. sweet milk
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks whipped margarine (room temperature)
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

    Whip the Crisco and margarine together.

    Blend in sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each.

    Add sifted flour alternately with milk.

    Beat well.

    Add vanilla.

    Beat 2 minutes. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300°.
