  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    Bring water to a boil on high and add sugar and cream of tartar; stir until it dissolves, then cover and cook for 3 minutes.

    Uncover and, without stirring, cook on high until it reaches a syrupy stage (262° on candy thermometer).

    Do not touch the thermometer to the bottom of the pan.

    Pour into little puddles on a greased pan; let cool.

    Pull until desired size.

    Cut with clean scissors.

    Roll in powdered sugar until coated.
